A long, silly babble about my out look on "first impressions"

So I have been thinking that the older I get the more I believe in first impressions. Not to be confused with Love at first sight. I do NOT believe in love at first sight, I believe in attraction at first sight, not love. What was I saying? Oh yes, first impressions! I have been thinking that first impressions are very big with me lately, because I am starting to realize when you meet someone that very first encounter, the first hand shake, that first exchange of names is who that person truly is. Think about the people you know, now try to think about those people the very first time you met them. Does it add up? Are you thinking that the first time you met that person they were a little distant? Off? Cold? Rude? Nice? Happy? Friendly? Yep, I do believe the people that I have met in my lifetime, usually end up to be that exact impression I got in that very first encounter with them. I recently met someone at a party, (and I try to always give them a reasonable doubt) who was a little cold and distant. Now, as time went on at the party, I thought "now don't just judge in that first minute, give her some time to warm up to you". Well.. she didn't really warm up, I mean I think maybe she was trying but its like she decided she really didn't want to put the effort into it. She never really warmed up to me. She asked if I wanted a drink (which was nice, cause she was hosting the party), but thats as bout as far as it went. The rest of the time there was pretty much the same.

Then there was a time when we were at the car show, and there was a lady about my age, and as we were driving slowly away (because there were a lot of people and we didn't want any casualties on the way out, and be front page in the local paper) this very pretty lady says "aw, I wanna ride" and I said "sure hop in!" she laughed and said it was a nice car. NOW, its really not what she said, it was the way she said it, and her demeanor in how she was saying it. She had this bright nice smile, and she had a nice-ness about her. I told Jonny, "aw, she seems so nice", Jonny laughed and said, "you would totally be her friend huh?" I said "yes, yes, I believe I would!" Or, take the time I met one of Jonny's friends wives. She is gorgeous, I mean it she really is, in fact I think she was a model at one time! Anyway, the first time we met we were at a party, and she was dressed in tight faded jeans with holes all the way up, and a tank top, with a shawl over her shoulders. Watching other girlfriends and wives, they had scowls on there faces and didn't have much to do with her. When our husbands introduced us we both smiled and shook hands and started talking right away! She was just the sweetest person, and she glowed! Every time we have get togethers, we always find each other and just talk, and laugh and talk.

Now, my point is you can tell a lot about someone in that first moment, that first encounter with a person, whether it be at a bar, or a party, or a store, or heck even at a car show!! Oh, and don't try to be someone that your not in that first encounter because, eventually in those first few moments something will show through that show's that you are just not meshing with that other person. Besides, you want to meet people who are like you, have the same interest, who have that same kinda .. oh whats the word.. aura! You know if you are not easy to get along with, then find someone who is not easy to get along with and take your time, trying to get along, i guess. What I'm sayin' is I am now trusting my keen intuition and believing that person when I first meet them. This way I won't waist my time trying to get that person to warm up to me, I will just find someone with my same sorta ...aura! What ever kind of aura that might be. I know, I know, I am a little crazy, talkin' about this first encounter, aura's nonsense.. Maybe thats the sorta people I should gravitate to, crazy, silly, nonsense people. Sounds fun to me!! hee hee.

On another note, I just found my camera, and I can not tell you how very happy I am about this! I mean I have the big camera with all the lens', but I really counted on the one that I just stuck in my purse and whipped out when I have to take a quick caption. This is a very, very, awesome thing, I tell ya! So now hopefully I can go back to my visual aspect of this silly little blog I got goin' here. ;)
