DK Ranch..

These were some pictures I took the last time we were out at my cousin Karen's ranch in Kansas. I wish I had more time to do some more lookin' around, and could take some more pictures. Maybe the next time we are out there. I may have to take a trip just to take pictures!

Just because!

I am going to start putting random pictures up, that I want to share, but don't really have much of a story for it. For instance I took these at the car show, and it reminds me of an old picture I would see of something my grandparents would have taken. If you are ever at my house you will see that I love, love black and white pictures! It just makes everything look soft, and ... I don't know cool!

If you read my last blog, you will remember that I talked about our closest shopping center that looked like it was built in 1971 and it still looks that way. Well we stopped at Vons for a few things, and decided to take a picture of part of the shopping center.

Subway.. eat fresh!

So what shall I talk about today? I dunno, I didn't take any pictures today. Mom came over and we went to lunch at McDonald's and then went and picked up the fixed part for Jonny to put on the ol' Galaxie. He was happy about that, he couldn't pick it up today, because of course he was on a date with Jacie. They had a great time! They went to see a movie, went to McDonald's, and then finished off with Mulligans, playing mini golf and games that gave tickets and toys, that will probably end up in the couch or "accidental getting thrown in the ol' trash-aroony." Any how after hangin' out with Mom and Jack most of the day, I just came home and haven't done much. I have been lazy and lovin' it!! Jonny came home, and we had a nice time relaxing and talking, then watchin' some t.v. Now I am just layin' with the dogs, drinking some wine and I hear Jonny in the kitchen making himself a margarita.

Earlier I twittered about having gone to Subway and how every single time I go there whether they are male or female no matter what Subway I go to, I am always treated like they are so annoyed they have to make me a sandwich. Like they just happen to be hanging out in a store, and I came in and randomly ask them to make me a turkey and avocado sandwich. How dare I!! I can be really annoying sometimes. Anyway, I guess I wouldn't like to make a million sandwiches a day. I mean I get annoyed that every time I walk into a Subway no matter what time of day there is always three to ten people a head of me. I mean how dare these people come in before me, ugh!! What do I expect, that these people don't also want the delectable sandwich made by an annoyed employee. So I guess when I look at it through the eyes of an employee of Subway I can see their point of view. Even though they get paid to make sandwiches the way you want the sandwich, I am sure they get a lot of people who are overly picky, and usually talk to them like they are idiots. I am sure that few are like me that every time I ask them for something I say "oh sorry, can I have one of those" or "oh sorry, can I have that on the side." Anyway I think if you are over your job, you should definitely try something different, I just hate feeling like I am annoying someone, especially when I am paying for it. Like for instance right outta high school I worked at a bakery and I got tired of snobby type Mom's coming in and complaining about how I assorted the cookies wrong in the to go box, or that it was ridiculous that yesterday we had hazelnut coffee, but today we don't?!!? Yep, I got tired of it, so I went to work for a florist and had to listen to snobby mom's order me around with this flower not that flower, or "ew, that flower stinks take that out, put this one in." Oh and if I dare suggest a flower they would look at me like I had two heads. So I get it, if you don't like the customers and you have been there too long, head out, find something new.

We live in a town where there are a lot of.. oh how shall I say this... older .. senior type people, that really enjoy giving everyone their opinion! I mean these are people who think that they are always, always have the right of way, whether they are walking or driving! I mean I really have to make sure that I look at all points when I am backing up in my Avalanche because they WILL step right out behind you, whether you are backing up or not. I can't really blame them though, I mean this town was a senior community for years, before they started building newer homes here in the last 8 years or so. They are starting to warm up to us being here, but it is sorta like we just took over. Take our closest shopping center, it still looks like it did the day it was built. Oh I'd say around 1971. Luckily for us we recently built a brand new shopping center and boy was I relieved! You rarely see the older folk out that way. I'm pretty sure its because its too far for them to take the golf carts. hee hee. Anyway I think I am getting tired of babbling, I shall finish my wine, relax and hit the hay. This Saturday has gone by way too fast!

Bath Scum, Tea Party, and Axle...

Whew! The kids were gone most of the day. This was my time to get to my Friday cleaning! Weekend's I don't like to clean, its family time and relaxation time. So I scrubbed, washed, and put away most of the day. The house is spic and span! The clothes are washed and put away.

I have put off for so long cutting Betty's hair, and its been getting pretty hot poor Betty has been panting so much almost begging me to get that hair off of her! So after the hair cut I decided to kill two birds with one stone and give BOTH the dogs a bath at the same time. I did feel a bit sorry for Betty because she kept looking at me like "get me outta this thing with this mutt!" The great part about giving the dogs a bath is that they don't stink anymore. The down side to giving the dogs a bath? The bath tub ends up looking like... like... pond scum is growing off of the side! Its basically DISGUSTING! So, this means I have to break out the scrub down the tube tools.. yes, this calls for bleach!!! Yuck that is just nasty!

After the bleach is poured and just a little bit of scrubbing and scrubbing and scrubbing (well you get the idea) I also had to apply some scrubbing bubbles to do some work, and a little more scrubbing. I mean come on now people I live for my baths, and I am not soaking in pond scum or the after math of pond scum particles *yuck* Yep, thats what I would think of instead enjoying a nice soak of that wonderful down time in the bath with one of my books! Anyway I finished my scrubbing and cleaning, and tonight I will enjoy the fruits of my labor!
(had to show xlarge pic, so you got an appreciation of how gross this is)

After I finished dog grooming, and scrubbing particles, I decided to make some chocolate, chocolate cookies. (That sounds yummy, after talking about scum I was scrubbing with the same hands that will be touching cookies, right? I washed well, geesh!) Thats when Jacie came home and told me all about her time with Aunie and how they swam. Aunie even got her to go in the deep end and swim back! She was very happy about that! Then Jacie wanted to have a tea party, so of course we had a tea party!! Pillow pet wanted to join us as well. It was time then for Daddy to come home, and as he sat in traffic, I made cheese ravioli's with chicken and white garlic sauce, with mini garlic bread! Italian food... my fav!!

So now Jonny is working on Jenny (the Galaxie), Jacie is watching a movie on the projector, and I am relaxing, catching up on my reality t.v. and type, type, typing!

Tomorrow Jacie has scheduled what she calls "Father, Daughter Day." She just loves her time with Daddy. She has some wonderful idea's to have a day with just Daddy. This is the big plan for tomorrow. Jack and I will just stay home and chill out, and maybe sometime this week he and I will have one of our "Mother, son days." These are pretty fun times for us.

Well Jonny just came in and he is literally reading to me out of the Galaxie's Manual. He is talking about an axle or something. Apparently he has to do something with that and lugs, whatever that means. I say, I don't want to know, just let me know when its fixed lol. Ok, I think I am finished for now, I am goin to chill, and zone out for awhile, maybe go get my book, and enjoy one of those bathtub soaks!

p.s. Sorry about always having large gaps in these blogs, I have yet to find out how to fix that! ugh!!

Sleep Overs, The Post Office, and Mom's house..

Last night the kids had sleep overs. Jack had his friend Kendall over, who he hasn't seen in a long time, because she is going to a new school now. They have been friends sence Kindergarten, they are two sarcastic peas in a pod! Then Jacie-girl had Breanna over, they are two girly-girls in a pea pod! Anyway, they had a blast starting off with a water gun fight. That was mostly Jack and Kendall. Jacie and Breanna watched partly in the trailer and partly from the house. Then it was on to the Wii. Kendall brought over her Mario cart, and apparently they were playing kids in Asia. I thought that was pretty cool, but they didn't because the kids in Asia kept beating them! I thought I was outta the picture, doing my own Mom sorta things, until Jack came over and said "can you paint my face so we can make a monster movie on your camera!! Ugh, I had to get out the ol' paint and start painting his face, then Breanna wanted to be a vampire. This started an arguement about zombie's and vampires, that I didn't even want to get in the middle of! Then they were really getting picky, because it was "use this color here, and this color here, and don't forget the stitches and blood!!! So once I got done with that, I thought I was outta the scene again, until I hear them talkin' about tattoos. Oh brother, unfortunatly our house isn't big enough to get lost in, because they found me, and they each wanted something different. The problem with this, is that my kids feel that I can draw ANYTHING! I can NOT draw anything, and especially on skin with a marker. I am sure that Kendalls Dad appreciated her coming home with a dragon drawn in permanet marker, hee hee. Anyyyyway, I finally finished that and it was time to get them settled down for the night, because I was exausted!

This morning I woke up to "we are SO hungry!" So of course I had to make, mac n cheese, grilled cheese, pancakes, and peanut butter and jelly sandwhich. Yep, they each wanted something different, but thats ok, I can relate. Around noon Mom called and said that she was going to meet the girls (a.k.a. Yvonne and Bobbi) at Jack and the box. Well, sence I didn't make myself anything I was all for it! Not to mention that I am always up for meeting up with the girls, and the kids! After this I took Kendall, and Mr. Jack to Kendalls house, because her Dad was going to take them to the pool, and then he's stayin' the night there. Jacie went with Aunie (Yvonne) to my Mom's to hang out, which was good for me, because i had to run in to the post office to send a package to Jonny's cousin for her daughters 1st birthday! Yesterday the kids and I were at Target FOREVER lookin' for the cutest outfit, to get the precious little girl. This is hard with Breanna and Jacie with me, saying "OH MY GOSH THIS IS SOOOO CUTE, GET THIS ONE!!!" Yes, it was quit an ordeal. Anyway, I really do not look forward to the post office here, cause its the only one within twenty minutes, so its ALWAYS crowded. Fortunatly they put one of those do it yourself machines in, and you just punch in where its going, pay and no one is askin' you if you want stamps or other merchandise that you don't want. "Nope, mail my crap, and get me the heck outta here!!" Juuust kidding, I don't really say that. Yep, we have quit a few seniors who like that interaction, and they really don't want to mess with computers, so I was able to just walk right up, mail it off, and headed out the door. From there I went to Mom and Dad's and hung out with Katelyn and Alex for awhile. Jacie begged to go stay the night at Aunie's so off she went with them.

Here I sit, in a quiet house trying to type with Dolly's big feet in the way and listening to my Dolly station on Pandora, waiting for my tall, glass of water of a husband to come home. Perhaps we will go out for dinner? Maybe I will take a night off from cookin.
