Teacher conference and this dorky Mom!

Ok, So this week is a good week for the kids, because they get minimum day all week!

Next week will be a GREAT week for them, because they get the whole week off!

The reason they have minimum week is because it's that time of year for teacher confrences.

Now I feel bad, because I really don't enjoy teacher confrences. Teachers make me nervous. I mean I am representing where these kids come from. I have to try to act as sane as possible, in the 10 minutes or so that I am talking to these people. I have to act like a responsible adult.. thats a lot of work!

And lets face it, my kids are pretty low key and pretty much the same as I was as a kid.. put your head down, do the work, don't cause any attention to yourself, and get the heck outta there alive!

I like school now, just as much as I liked it then.. and thats not very much. Back then, it was worrying about getting work done, get to the swings first, don't cause too much drama with friends, and study for tests.

Now, its get them to school on time, remember to pick them up on time, are they sick enough to keep home, because if they don't go to school the teacher lectures me, fundraisers, drama with friends, helping with homework... Now that I think about it, its more hassle now than then.

Anyway, Jackson's school didn't have scheduled times with teachers, you just drop in and talk with them about how he is doing.

So first up? Language Arts, aka English.. heaven for bid I call it English! Anyway, he has two teachers for this, and they were EXTREMELY nice, and I absolutly loved them! They tell me that Jack is doing great, and they really enjoy him. Good! Great! Off to the next class!

Next, was math. Fortunatly its still known as MATH. Unfortunatly .. sorta .. his Math teacher wasn't in the room. bummer... on to the next class..

Science! Jackson loves his science class, right now they are learning about DNA, and we have had many discussions about what he's learned. I love hearing about it from him, because there is so much interest.

So, we meet with his teacher, and he is a nice guy. Unlike like the women, he talks more about grades and what they have been learning rather than how sweet, and great Jacks personality is. Good! Great! On to the next!

Next was History! Again, the teacher snuck outta the room, so we decide that all's well, and we would head out.

So, after we leave I see that we still have about an hour until I have to go to Jacie's school and meet with her teacher. So I decide that we would drive thru somewhere get something to drink, use the restroom, go by Walgreens, get gas, and finally stop by the bank.

Now, after all of the above was done, and we were in the bank parking lot I look down at the light sweater I was wearing and think to myself.. hmmm, I didn't know I had pockets on the inside of this.... oh for cryin' out loud, I've had my sweater on inside out this whole time!!

Was the guy at the gas station looking at me funny? Walgreens? The bank?

Then I start to think back to the confrences. Were those teachers looking at Jack with sympathy? Do they feel bad for him for having a Mother who's a DORK!!

I wonder if they had a discussion after I left.. "aww, did you see that she had her sweater inside out? I wanted to tell her, but I didn't want to embarress the poor lady. That poor, kid has to live with her."

Luckily, Jack was pretty forgiving and didn't hold it against me.. however he did make fun of me for awhile... but I deserve it, I guess.

Well, at least I righted the problem before meeting with Jacie's teacher. One of my kids should have a semi normal parent in the eyes of their teachers, and class mates.

                                                                          Ugh!

Happy Thursday Everyone!!
