Reviving the blog, and posting the family vacation..

Last night, Jonny and I were talking and he asked, "why haven't you been writing on your blog?" I said "I dunno, I just haven't felt like it, I guess." He said, "Well, I really like it, and I think the kids will appreciate it when they get older, imagine if your Mom could blog when you were younger." This got me thinkin' and so here I am back to blogging.

Well, when I got back on my blog I saw that I had written a whole page a few months back about the vacation I took with my family, so I thought I could just post it! So here it is the vaca I took with the fam....

April 2013:

I didn't really feel like looking up rediculous pictures on the internet today, so I decided I would create my own stick figure sketches and be done with it.. don't judge me! Anyway, I thought that I would talk about the trip I took with my parents and my sister Yvonne. Wanna hear it? Here it goes..

Well, my cousin Rob (Dad's brothers son) was gettin' married. Rob and his love Maggie live in Kansas, so we decided to fly out for the wonderful occassion. Now let me just say that I haven't flown since before 9/11, and I haven't had to experience all of the extra security. I knew what I was in for but it is still nerve racking.

Anyway, we were flying out of Long Beach, which is good, because the Long Beach airport isn't as crowded as LA or Orange County. This was excellent because we were able to get to the plane quickly. While we checked in, we thought that perhaps we were aloud to check one bag per person without being charged.. nope, you get charged for that! Soooo, we decided we weren't giving another cent to them and we would just shove our crap in the plane along with the rest of the bunch who wouldn't pay for rediculousness!! So, when we get to the gate, we are informed that the plane is much to small for large over head bagage, and that they would just take it and store it under the plane, and when we get to our next destination they would hand us our bags as we got off. Not really sure what the point of that was... whatever. At least I wasn't that fool, trying to stuff my giant bag above the poor passangers.

So once i get on the plane and we take off, I realize that I didn't have my jacket that I left with. UGH!! Then it dawned on me that I was so shook up about taking off my shoes, and taking out my digital devices at the security check, that I left my favorite jacket there!!!! Well that really ticked me off!

Anyway, once we get on the plane we find that we are literally the last seats on the plane.

The one that is RIGHT next to the bathroom. The good news is that if we need to use it, its RIGHT there. The bad news is everyone else on the plane has to stand there and wait for the bathroom with either thier butt in your face... or their crotch. Also the stewardess' seat is right next to me. You have this uncomfortable feeling like you have to say something to her, like "hey, thanks for the "in case of emergency" display, you really nailed it!!"

forgot to label.. From the left to right.. Mom, Dad, Stewardess, Me, and Yvonne

Anyway, because I was on the isle, and Yvonne was sleeping next to the window I was there next to the stewardess. Oh well, she was nice, and I was sure that I would get help from her first if anything went down!

So Our first lay over was quick and easy, no problems, and we got to Kansas without any incedents. All was well.

So once we get to Kansas, Aunt Dee and Karen (Mom's sister and niece) took us to Karens house (cause thats where we slept). Yes we always have some very comfortable accomadations! We had a great time, visiting, shopping, and always laughing. We watched a few movies, and sat by the fire with the dogs because it was literally FREEZING outside!!

The wedding was that Friday and it was a beautiful ceremony.

My cousins (Rachel) girls were the flower girls and they did AMAZING! I'm pretty sure if there were such a career they could become professionals at it! So after the wedding we headed to the reception! Thats where I ended up dragging my Mom on the dance floor! Why? Because thats what I do!! whooohoooo!!

We had a good time. The best part about the time spent there was that we had great visits with both sides of our family with lots of laughs! Unfortunatly it always feels like not enough time. Soon it was time to go home, and we were standing in the security lines at the airport. When we got there we heard an anouncement saying that our plane would be delayed, and that our connecting flight would be effected by this and we would have to hurry to the gate, once we got there. So.. once we land at our middle destination, we look at the time and realize that we have VERY little time to grab our bags and head to the next plane. So Yvonne, and Mom say they really have to use the bathroom, so Dad and I tell them to go ahead and we will grab the bags and meet them at the next gate. Then Dad and I sat and waited... and waited... and WAITED for our bags to be delivered! FINALLY they open the doors we yank our bags out and head out to the gate.

Thats when we run into Mom, and the three of us RACE there! While we are racing across the whole airport we see Yvonne, waiting for us near the new gate..

... cool as a cucumber! While Mom, Dad, and I are gasping for AIR!! Anyway, I tell the woman at the door that we are here, and she says "are you the Cloyds?" I say yes, and she says "Oh good, we had to close the doors, they were about to take off." Ugh, we JUST made it, and had to do the walk of shame all the way to the back of the plane. Silently apologizing to the rest of the passangers for having to wait. That was o.k. with us, cause if we didn't make that flight we woulda had to stay the night there!

Anyway, the flight went well, we made home safe and sound,

Jonny and I were happy to see each other!

and had a great time with the family!!
