Fine line..

So I've been thinking... Don't worry I'm O.K., there wasn't an overload..

There is a fine line in parenting. I think about celebrities and their actions, especially when I have to quickly turn the radio, because I don't want my kids to be exposed to a song where that celebraty feels that everyone should be privy to what there love life is or that they like to smoke what they can, whenever they can.

There are those that feel that they have to express themselves and get it all out there. That they should be free to say or sing about what ever they are feeling, and they could care less who they offend. It is there right to express themselves.

This is where I start thinking. I am such a huge believer that the way you express yourself is the way you were brought up.

This could stem from one of two things...

1. Your parents constantly hovered, and didn't let you express yourself as a child, so as an adult you feel free to run around the world, with as much expression as you can possibly have, while you hope to be ticking your parents off at the same time.

OR

2. Your parents were "free spirits" and overly encouraged their kids to be free, to curse at the age of 3, flip off the camara because they think its cute, and spit out anything and everything they want.

So, here is my delima. Where is that line?

Where do I stop hovering and let their free spirit flow, and where do I tame that free spirit and refuse to start putting flowers in there hair and pull out the camara when they give me the finger... which would never... ever happen, by the way.

I don't plan on walking past my kids when they spit out fowl words, but I do want their opinion when there is a subject that comes up for their opinion.

I mostly hope to influence them to understand their surroundings, to have respect for people around them. That to have an opinion is one thing, but to be careful about how you respond to other peoples opinions.

As you get to be an adult, your personal life is just that .. personal, and there are some things that need to be said and somethings that need to be kept locked away in your cranium.

I don't know, I'm still learning what it is to be free spirited and what it means to be a little conservative. Hopefully I'm not messing my kids up in the process, and they won't be on a stage somewhere in the future, trying to tick me off.

Bucket list..

So many people talk about "Bucket lists." What do I want to do, before I kick the bucket? There was even a movie about it!

I don't have a lot of things that are on that list. I am a pretty boring person. I'd like to go to Dolly Land of course!

See Cher preform LIVE!!

Take a road trip in an RV with Jonny from here to the East coast.

Those are just three I can think of, right now. I CAN however tell you what I DON'T want to do before I die!

Climb Mt. Everest to see if I can survive the weather, and feel what it might be like to breath like I am being crushed by an elephant.

I don't want to jump out of a functioning airplane, testing gravity, to see what its like to plummet to the very hard ground!

I don't want to go scuba diving in shark infested waters to see whether or not they will decide to mistake me for a seal, and have one of my legs as an afternoon snack!!

I definatly don't want to go up in a giant plane, and experience zero gravity, while trying not to see what my puke looks like floating around my head.

I spared you a puking picture..

So, as you can see, I am not very adventurous. Nope, I am a very, very, boring person. I like my feet on the floor, a good book in my hand, and maybe a fluffy pillow under my head.

People say "life is short, step outside your box!"

I agree totally, life IS short, and I don't plan on making it any shorter by stepping outside my box with or without a parachute!!

So I think I will leave it to those adventurous types to keep those companies in buisness that like to scare the living day lights out of their customers, so they can check it off of their lists. God bless them, and keep them all safe!!

The pups are here!!

So my niece-dog, Lola, had her puppies!! In fact the last blog I wrote was from my sisters house, and once her and brother in law were home, we left it to them to be on baby look out. Well, 15 minutes after we left, the first one came!! He came out with no problems!

Then the second one came out, and it was a really, really, good thing my brother in law Jeremy was there, because Lola had some issues getting it out, and it wasn't really breathing very well. Jer had to revive it, but he came back strong and all is well.

Then it was a while before the third one came and she pretty much just walked out! Katelyn (my niece), was there to literally catch HER. She was healthy and well.

The next day we went over to see the little hairy bundles and kiss and hug all over them! Lola wasn't really to interested and seemed to be distracted, but we were happy her babies were all healthy and well!!! It was no coincidence that they were born on December 4th, two years to the day my beautiful sister, Bobbi passed away. She was a HUGE animal lover, and we know this was her wink to us.

The next night, my sister, Yvonne slept down stairs with the new puppies, and the new Mama. Luckily, at about 2 A.M. she happened to look over and see that Lola looked like she was pushing AGAIN! When she got up, she saw that another puppy was coming out!!!!!!! She yelled, and screamed to Jer, who was sleeping peacefully upstairs.

Jer came down.. deshvilled, but ready to go!

Yvonne had already got it out and all was not well.. the pup was in distress. Unfortunately, after trying, and trying the poor thing didn't make it, but the next one that came out did make it. The consensus was that Bobbi wanted to keep one with her!

All the others are well, and very happy, especially Lola! Once the last two were out, she wasn't distracted anymore, and she is a fantastic Mama!! She feeds, and cleans, feeds and cleans. If anyone picks her puppies up, she is sure to watch until that baby is back with her!

So basically, babies and Mama Lola are healthyand happy! Whew!

Jacie, Lola, and Honey!

Yesterday morning, I headed out to Jacie's school, because she had an award assembly.

She and her bestfriend both recieved honor roll, and were very proud of themselves.

Luckily Nana made it out to the big event...

After that we headed out to my sisters, because their pug, "Lola" is getting ready to have puppies!! This was not expected, so we were all surprised.. especially Lola. So, now it is about that time, and we are on baby watch!

She's pretty miserable..

Yup, she isn't very happy..

Pictures do not do it justice, her belly swings when she walks..

Here is the proud papa, big Daddy, Larry.

He's not really effected by Lola's discomfort..

Yep, so we are at their house right now, on watch for those little hairy babies. Lola is in the other room nesting and panting.

Jacie and I put up the Christmas decorations, and our cat "Honey boo-boo child".. a.k.a "Honey" was having an overload! This is her first Christmas and she doesn't know what to do with it all!! What should she attack first??
Then she found the Christmas tree..

That's right.. she climbed right up the middle of the CHRISTMAS TREE!!!

Apparently, she didn't want this penguine on the tree.. so she pushed it down! So this year we didn't decorate the tree very much, Jacie put up just a few unbreakable things.

For obvious reasons.

So as a punishment, I thought a nice Christmas outfit would fit the punishment..

She wasn't happy about that..

So back to Lola.. Nana is on patrol, while my sister is at work..

I am just here for moral support..

Hopefully they will get here before the morning, and we'll keep you updated with new furry little photos!!

What does that even mean?!

The other day I was headed out in the early morning, and realized when I stepped outside it was a bit chilly!!.. well for California standards anyway.

That's when an old saying my Grandma used to use popped into my head. That got me thinking about all the other old sayings my amazing Grandma use to say. There were quite a few.. some I can't really repeat on here, though. lol

One of her sayings was.. "He's a bald faced liar!"

.. What?! What in the world does that mean?? Who in the world came up with such a saying??

Was there a time in the past when people believed that only those that couldn't grow a beard were big liars!?

TRUTH be told, those with beards just hid behind their lies! Sorry I got carried away..

Another saying Grandma had: "It's colder than a witch's booby (didn't exactly say booby) on a shadow side of a mountain"... Now.. I get the shadow side of a mountain, but a witch? And what does her boobies have to do with anything? Wouldn't her nose, or her hands be colder? What is a witch doing on a mountain anyway, and why are her boobies so cold?

I think it should be "its colder than a goat's ears, on a shadow side of a mountain." Now, that would make more sence!

Oh here's a good one: "I'm hotter than a coal diggers butt hole."..... WHAT?!!? Now, I realize that its extremely hot in those cavarns while coal diggers are diggin' for coal, however why oh why are we thinking about his butt hole?! gross!

Why not coal diggers, feet! I mean those things have to be hot and sweaty in those socks and boots!

I don't know, maybe our generation is just not as creative as my Grandma's generation. They just knew how to sprinkle it with flair!
