Lincoln..

Thursday night, Jonny said "hey, after we drop the kids off at school in the morning, lets go see the Lincoln movie!"

I said "ok," to which Jack replied "NO WAY, I WANNA SEE THAT TOO!!"

Honestly it didn't really surprise me that he wanted to see this, because Abe Lincoln is a president that we have talked about with the kids. I always tell the kids that I have such a great respect for him, that he was a kind man, and very wise man. I bought Jack a book called "Who was Abraham Lincoln,"

and he has really been enthralled in it.

Anyway, he REALLY wanted to see this movie. Ok, fine we have to take this kid to see the movie about our 16th president. So after picking up the kids from school yesterday, I say to Jacie "Jace, we are going to the movies to see Lincoln, do you want to go to Breanna's and play with her while we go?" She said "No, I want to go see it too!." I continue to tell Jacie that its probably not a movie she will enjoy, and the movie is 2 1/2 hours long. "Thats, ok, I still want to see it!" Ugh, fine, then we will all go see the movie together. So off to the mall we go. We got something to eat at the food court then split up, the girls went off to the girl stores, and the boys went off to do what ever boys do.

While going to the stores, it is inevitable that you have to pass by my least favorite thing...

Kiosks!

I really HATE Kiosks. Now, not the Kiosk themselves, in fact they can be very useful. HOWEVER, as your walking by you will always, always, get harassed by the sales people.

"Ma'am, can I talk to you for a moment".. or.. "Would you like to try this lotion".. or.. "Can I curl your hair with our amazing straightening irons." "No, sorry gotta run"... "no, no thank you" and finally "uh, no thanks no one is touching my hair without an appointment."

I protectively put my arm around Jacie and guide her swiftly through the madness, and try not to look them in the eye! Once they see the white of your eyes.. your doomed!!

Its great when you finally get through, but then you realize that you have to go back through the mess to get out of there!!

Anyway we met each other back at the movie theater and bought the tickets. Once we get inside and buy popcorn, and soda's, Jonny who normally chooses middle section, end seat, decided to sit us all middle section, middle row seats.

Now, being that I have always had a VERY weak bladder, I had serious doubts about this seating arrangement, but I decided that I was going to be a big girl, and suck it up. Now about 10 minutes before the movie started I thought that it would be a good idea to visit the rest room, before I sat through a 2 1/2 hour movie. Now let me just set the scene for you..

Jonny and I were probably the youngest in the audience, not to mention our 8 and 11 year old that we drug along. Anyway, as I stood up, I saw that I would have to scooch by three elderly couples.
As I got by the first, two couples, "excuse me.. sorry... thank you.. excuse me"... you know the routine, then I came to a halt! I look up and there is a elderly man, I would guess in his late... late... 70's who had fallen asleep (at least, I think he was sleeping)..

Yes, the movie hadn't even started yet, and the man had fallen asleep!!! I couldn't get by him, because his foot was propped up and he was sawin' logs! Apparently the people sitting next to him didn't know the man, because no one nudged him, and they just looked at me like "now what ya gonna do?"

So, I scooched my way back and had to go through the other way. "excuse me," "sorry," "thank you."

The rest of the movie I didn't take even a little sip of my coke, cause I didn't want to have to wake the ol' man up! Who, I'm pretty sure slept through the whole movie!!

Then, before the movie started there was a woman who asked another woman if she could move over one seat so that she and two friends could sit together, the woman she asked replied "no"........
no??!?!........ um, ok. Who says that?? No?? You couldn't move over one seat to let those people sit together? It was just bazaar. ((sigh))

So when the movie started Jacie made it to about 10 minutes into the movie, until she was under Jonny's jacket playing on my phone. Every once and awhile she would stick her head out and say "is it almost over?" Jack was on the other side of me asking me a multitude of questions. He really wanted to understand it all. Unfortunately a history lesson in the middle of a movie is a little hard to do. We dealt with it though, and he seem to get the concept of it. Evey now and then he would lean over toward me, to tell me a little fact he read in his book. Pretty interesting.

Anyway it was an excellent movie, I really enjoyed it!

Daniel Day Lewis depicted Abraham Lincoln exactly how I would have pictured him to be. He is still a great hero to me... Lincoln, not Daniel Day Lewis, though I think he is a fine actor.

So I give it 2 thumbs up!

Besides the bathroom debacle we had a good time. Now we start a week of no school!!

Happy Saturday!!

Make up!

 Ahhhh, make up...

oh how I love make up.

I love make up, like I love paint, markers, crayons, pens, and pencils. Why do I love make up?
Because its just an extension of being artistic.

I love to create, to draw, to paint, to make something look like this..

 to this!

Its something I can think about and create, what color will I choose today, eye liner or no eye liner. This morning I found out that I can even do my make up in the dark!! As Jonny selpt in, (which is VERY rare) I tried to quietly do my make up in the dark, before taking the kids. Turns out, I can do my make up blind folded!!

.... ok, well not blin... you get the point. I thought I was gonna come out of the room lookin' like this..

but nope, it wasn't that bad.

Now the problem with doing your make up all of the time, is that when you don't do your make up bedause your tired, or not in the mood for make up, people look at you simpatheticly like your sick.

Psh, what ever! I'm not THAT scary lookin' without make up... am I?
Well anyway, I like doin' my makeup, being creative, and seeing what comes out in the end.

What can I say, I'm just a creative thinker..

Happy Thursday!!

Galaxy game, girly fun, hills, and a clean garage!

Well, we had a pretty great weekend. Saturday, Jack and Jace spent the night with Papa and Nana, while Jonny and I went to dinner, laughed, and laughed with a friend from work and his lovely wife. We had a lot of fun at the "Beer Hunter" and the kids had fun gettin' spoiled by Papa and Nana!

Sunday,  Jonny and Jack went off to LA, to watch a professional soccer game. The Galaxy!

They both said they had a fantastic time, it was a lot of fun, and there was a lot of energy in the air!! Those soccer fans, are VERY passionate about there teams, and it showed!

While they were watching David bend it like Beckham,

Jacie and I were off to the mall to watch Wreck it Ralph at the ol' movie theater.

It was a really cute movie, and we both really liked it a lot!

waiting for the movie to start.

I love fun animated movies, but trust me there are a few, where I'm lookin' down at my watch thinkin' "oh brother, I have 45 more minutes of this!?!"

Well, I didn't think that with Wreck it Ralph, it was very cute, and entertaining! After we went to eat at Jacie's FAVORITE place to eat,

Panda Express.

From there we headed upstairs to Builda Bear Workshop to pick up some PJ's for one of her many Builda Bear creatures at home. She exclaimed that it was the best day ever!!

After that, the night went slightly down hill (no pun intended) when we headed over to the ER, because while in the mall my niece Breanna called me to inform me that while my sister and brother in law Jeremy took everyone to Julian to hike, my other brother in law (Allen) was racing my nephew Brian and he slipped and fell down a gravel hill... ugh!!

moments before the fall..

He ended up fracturing a rib, and had some scraps and bruises to be SCRUBBED! Poor guy was in a lot of pain, but always true to his nature he was all laughs and smiles the whole time.

Then Sunday, we headed back to the mall, to sit and visit with my sister Yvonne at the food court, while my niece Katelyn endured her very first job interview. She has applied many, many, places, and we all know how the hiring is out there. She finally got a group interview that turned out to be with a hand full of other applicants. After it was over we met up with the rest of the gang, and headed over to "Bobbi's Rosa's" to celebrate and eat some lunch. Later that night we were happily surprised to find out that she got the job, and she started today!! Very exciting!

After that we headed home and Jonny decided to purge some junk in the garage.

Oh boy, when I heard that I had to run out there quick to make sure he wasn't throwing away things he thought we didn't need like, Christmas decor, or bikes! I can hear it now.. "You don't need these birth certificates right?"

Anyway we finally finished that and we have a whole lotta stuff on our front porch waiting for Salvation Army to come pick it up tomorrow. I will say, it IS pretty nice to have a clean garage again! Till next time!

Happy Wednesday!!

The Pioneer Woman..

A few years ago, I started following a blog called "The Pioneer Woman." A.K.A Ree Drummond.

I became obsessed over this woman's blog. I would check it every day to see what new pictures, recipe's, and fun things she would put up. I LOVE it!

She is just so funny, so sweet, and writes so great. I haven't a lot in common with her, except we both love our kids, our husbands, our dogs, and to cook. She lives in Oklahoma, (and was born and raised in the same town I was born in) on a huge ranch, she home schools her kids (because she lives so far from town), and she is married to a cowboy.

We have completely different lives, so I find what her life is all about very interesting. It puts me in someone elses world, and what they are up to in a different part of the country. There is noooo way I could live on a ranch and be that far from town, home school my kids, and have to get up at 4 a.m. every morning. So I leave it up to her, and check in on it all every now and then.

She is the whole reason I started blogging. Granted she is now on the food network,

an actual picture I took while I was ironing.. inspired me to write this here page.

she has about a million people that follow her, and she is a great photographer, so she allows me to see what things could be like if I ever became serious about anything. I don't have the patience to become serious about anything. I'm too impatient!

I just like to blog, here and there, and show a little about what is up in my life. I take pictures to document things so the kids will remember when they become adults. Which I then put up on the blog. The blog is another great way to have something for the kids to look back on. Anyway, I wish everyone had a blog so we could all keep up with what is going on in the "daaays of ouuuur liiiiives."

Happy Veterans Day!! Make sure you wish a Veteran a Happy Hero Day!!
I have already wished my hero (Dad) a happy Veterans day!

A hair cut, tortillas, and lunch bags..

Haven't had much to say, so as usual when I don't have much to say, I just say it with pictures. I am a very visual type person and love pictures, I love, love, love when people post pictures. Not everyone is a visual person like me and may think it boring, but I figure they don't have to tune in if they don't like it... so there. AND if they don't like it, they can get their OWN blog! Anyway, Jacie and I were sitting down the other night dealing with her tangles, and I got a wild hair, and said "Jace, wanna cut your hair?".. she responded with "sure"...

before..

after!
I was a little nervous, but I love it! Not only is it cute, no more tangles! woohoo!

Ok, then last night Jacie and I decided to make some home made tortillas. A recipe I found on Pinterest of course..

Guess what??

Aside from the fact we had a little trouble getting them "round" (with practice this will come), they were REALLY good! I don't think I will buy another package of tortillas again!! I made Jonny burritos last night, and he really liked em' too! They were a success! Here is the recipe I used, super easy!!...
** 3 cups flour 1 tsp. salt 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 cup warm water Combine all the flour, salt, vegetable oil, and water until it forms a dough. Roll the dough into a big ball and take about an 1 to 2 inch pieces off. Pat the dough flat with your hands or take a rolling pin and roll into circles. Put the dough on a flat pan on the stove and let the sides cook until there are little brown specks on both sides like you would see on other tortillas.**

Well now we are sitting on Friday, and happy that its a three day weekend!! When I packed Jacie's lunch I had to remind her...

I decided with red, and blue to honor Veterans day, the reason for the extra day off. Jacie needs a new lunch bag, so I have been packing her lunch's in brown bags and decorating them for her. Well, this has back fired because instead of wanting to get a new lunch bag, she looks forward to seeing how I am going to write her name and what extras I will put on it. All of October she had a ghost, Frankenstein, pumpkins, bats. Well, now we are in November and I have to come up with new stuff. Its getting a little out of control. I will have to find a new pretty lunch bag, so I don't have to work! As you can see, Jack prefers a plain ol' lunch bag, he didn't even want to buy one this year, being in Middle School is a whole new game. I have been SO tempted to decorate it real pretty and stick it in his backpack... I'm still thinking about it.

Dolly are you ready for the weekend??!!??

Don't take that tone with me missy!!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!
