Oh brother its Football..

Ok, well I gave in.. I gave in to Jackson and football. I was hoping... really, really, really, hoping Jack wouldn't want anything to do with pain, breaking ribs, concussions... I mean football. Football.

I thought when he was a baby, if he didn't want to play baseball that it would break my heart. I was wrong. He tried baseball, he was on a few teams, but he really was interested. I think because there was just too much down time. I get it!

When he wanted to play basketball, I thought "Ok, fine, try it, and I'm sure you will want to go back to baseball." Well I was wrong, not only did he like basketball, he was actually pretty darn good at it!! AND, Jonny and I REALLY love to watch him play!

Turns out we don't miss baseball at all!

 I surprised myself.

Well, he then started throwing a football around with his older cousin/buddy Brian. Well, turns out he is pretty good at that too. Brian taught him a lot about the game, and of course we all watch Brian play his games, and Jack then got hooked! He started watching games at home with Jonny, and played John Madden on XBox. Finally he begs us to play football. Ok, fine I gave in, but I would only give in to FLAG football. I told him that he needed to get to know the game more, and know what he's doing out there before my little baby boy starts gettin' beat up!!! ugh!!!

Well, again to my surprise he REALLY loves it, and he is good at it............((sigh)).
Also a surprise, I really like watching him play the game!! He doesn't take his eye off of the ball whether he is on the field or on the sidelines. He is completely into to. So I guess I am going to have to pull away a little on this and let my little bird fly... with a helmet and shoulder pads, and knock the snot outta his competition!! This is gonna be interesting!

I love that kid!!!!!!

My safari hat judgement..

makes me want to go to Disneyland!

exactly the hat he was wearing!

Have you ever drove by someone and they were wearing something so out of the ordinary that you had to take ohhh 2 or 3 additional looks? I did this yesterday! As the kids and I dropped the Redbox rentals off at Walgreens (not that this has anything to do with what I saw), I passed by this man in the parking lot talking on the phone. Now, he was wearing average looking clothes, nothing out of the ordinary, but it wasn't his clothes that got the double take, it was the hat he wore on his head. It looked like he was about to board everyone on the Jungle ride at Disneyland! You know, one of those hats that if someone was wearing it, you knew they were about to go on a safari in the jungles of Africa!

Ok, ok, maybe... juuuust maybe he had plans for a special trip to Kenya, maybe Tanzania. Suuure, I could chalk this special hat up to something like that, but come on, he had on Khaki shorts, and a collard shirt. This guy wasn't foolin' me, he wasn't goin on any African safari to hunt lions, and take amazing pictures of antalope basking in the sun. No sirrry! This man was just in the bank parking lot, talking on his cell phone, next to his Toyota celica, trying to shade his eyes from heat of hot sun!

Now for a split second I thought about taking out my phone and taking a picture of the safari gentlemen, but I stopped myself! I mean, who am I to judge this guy? What would I be teaching my kids? Why can't he see a hat fit for a jungle romp, and think "this is exactly what I need when I go out into the hot sun, I need this proper hat!" Maybe, just maybe, he was given this hat by his deceased Grandfather, WHO went on magical desert rides with his then Egyptian lover on the backs of camels as he wore his appropriate safari hat, and she in her red sequence sarong. Ok, probably not, but it's fun to imagine, right?

My point is I was judging this man, for wearing a hat that you don't really see often. Most of us don't dress the way we REALLY want to... do we? I may wear something I thought was pretty cool, or comfortable, but don't because people would look at me like was a crazy person! Look at Lady Gaga, for instance. She dresses how she wants to dress, and doesn't really care what people think.

Maybe we all need a lesson from Lady Gaga, and the mystery man with the jungle hat! I think if I thought this way I would probably have the guts to wear my very high heels EVERYWHERE!!

I would wear my heels with my sweats and t-shirt's, and wear my orange and bright blue eye shadows together! I don't know maybe I will ease into it some day. Maybe I may leave this to the brave ones, and I will try to stop judging those who choose to wear what they want, and don't care what others think! I can't help but look though..... sorry.

My review on the "Footloose" movie.. : /

Bobbi Jo
Well, my beautiful niece Katelyn and I went to see the new "Footloose" movie Saturday. Ok, now let me start off by saying that I have always been a BIG fan of the original Footloose, and was a little sceptical when I found out about the new one. I mean, you have to be pretty brave to think you can come up with something like it or better. I for one have very little movies that I can watch over and over again, and Footloose has always been one that if I was flippin' through the channels and saw it was on I stopped and watched! It had a huge following! I can't even begin to imagine how many times my sister, Bobbi has seen it! When ever I see the movie, I think of my sister.
Katelyn

Anyway, I saw the previews and decided that it was worth paying the outrages amount (not really, Jonny had free movie passes), to go see this remake. I knew Katelyn was game, so I drug her along with me. I'm SURE there is absolutely nothing else for a gorgeous 17 year old to do, then hang out with her Aunt on a Saturday afternoon! Anyway, she seemed happy to go, so we got our candy and soda and sat and watched our movie.

Now I am not going to say it was bad, cause it really wasn't bad. HOWEVER... it definitely wasn't the real deal. I mean, when I watched Kevin Bacon come in from Chicago into this small town, I believed that this guy was from Chicago, had a big city attitude and was tryin' to fit in to this small town, but not give in to their stubborn ways!! Not only that when Kevin danced, he DANCED!! It was a manly way of dancing, and it didn't bother me at all that he was a gymnast, cause he was a masculine gymnast!  Oh, and when he got up in front of the council to convince those stubborn good ol' boys to change their way of thinking, I believed every word Kevin said with conviction!!

convolution/dancing
Ok, now for the new movie. Again, if this was a movie that I was watching for the first time, not knowing anything about an original, I woulda enjoyed it more perhaps. However, I really couldn't help comparing every detail of Ren, Ariel, Wilard, and Rusty. I just couldn't help it!! One of the best parts of the first  Footloose was when he gets really pissed and heads out to the abandoned something or rather (what is that place?), and starts dancing like a mad man. Ok, he danced like a mad man, but in a controlled "I know exactly what I'm doing cause I'm an awesome dancer" kinda way. Not only that it was hyped up music that you could dance to! The new one was him going to an abandoned something or rather, and turning on some weird "no one could dance to this, cause there is really no rhythm to this music" song. Not only that he just kinda flung himself around like he was having convolutions and would do a  flip everyone once and awhile. It was kinda strange, and I was glad it was over, because I was afraid he was going to hurt himself.

If this was a play and I was watching these characters on stage I would give it a high praise! Really, I felt like I was watching a play. You know when you are watching a play for the first time on a stage, and you feel a little uncomfortable, cause you know they are right there and they are acting out these parts, and you can't forget that you should be imagining the fourth wall. Well that's what it was like watching this new movie. It was like watching a play. The best one in the movie was the character who played Ren's friend "Wilard." This kid was believable and now that I think about it, I think he was better looking then Ren!

"Wilard"

Then there were things that I tried to ignore, but I just couldnt. Like a part where they all start dancing at an empty drive-in theater, and the music is blaring over big loud speakers, but they only get busted when the preacher man just happens to come into the drive in. I mean they couldn't hear it from town? Then the whole place was full of black girls dancing and krunking like crazy (the best dancing was by them by the way!!), and out of no where the only white people out dancing were Ren and Ariel. Although you cut to them at school or the town meeting and there are only like 5 black people. Where did they go? Do they all live at the drive in theater, and never ever leave? Oh! How about the chicken scene! Remember in the original movie they play chicken with tractors? Why? Because they are in a small town, and they have access to tractors and can do it on a farm where no one else will see them, and get busted. Then the next day, they asked Ren if they knew anything about the tractor that was destroyed out on Farmer so and so's property, and he has no comments for them. Makes sense right? Well!! In this movie they have them racing, and playing chicken in buses... BUSES!?!? Oh, yeah no one is going to see us racing these buses and then BLOWING THEM UP!!!!! AND, no one says anything about it the next day!?

Ok, ok, I will stop ragging on the movie, it was a fine movie. It just had A LOT to live up to, thats all. I just don't think that this new one, is going to become an instant classic as the other one did. I will say I did enjoy the music (except the convulsion scene) and may look for the soundtrack!!

Anyway, I was happy to hang out with Katelyn, she is always fun! I had a great weekend, and Jonny and I had an awesome date night on Friday. The kids had a lot of fun at Aunie's going to the pumpkin patch! Now on to a new week! woohoo!! Cut loose, footloose, kick off your sunday shoes!!

I'm physically "normal"... but the verdict is out on my mental state..

Oh brother. Well, I finally got to my doctors appointment today, where she looked at my blood work, and xrays. You know where she is going to tell me what is wrong with me, and why I have been hurting. Well, I sat in the waiting room for literally an HOUR, I was finally called in. As I sit in the room waiting a little longer for the doctor, when all of the sudden she BURST in and says "Jennifer?" After jumping out of my skin, I said "uh, yes." She says "ok, bring your xray's and come to my office. "uhhh, ok." Anyway, I quickly pick up the xrays and turn down the hallway, where she was already gone and in her office... She didn't even wait for me!?

So, when I finally get in the office and sit down across from her desk she says "ok, so I have looked at your blood work, and xrays that they sent me on the computer." What? They sent her the xray's? Why am I lugging this giant envelope around with 20 xrays in it?

Anyway, she starts rambling on and on about ABA tests were normal, and CCR levels were normal, or ABCDEF  whatever. She said my protein, sugar, and something else levels were great. My kidney's  were good, my blood pressure was perfect. All the xray's looked good. Ok, basically she tells me that I am completely normal and there is NOTHING wrong with me. Well, first of all I am SO very thankful that I am healthy and have no issues, however I am so frustrated that I have these issues with my back and knees and don't have an answer. She did however refer me to physical therapy and said they will teach me exercises to help me.

((sigh)) Ok, hopefully this will help. Basically I went through all of these crazy doctors with their crazy waiting rooms, with waiting, waiting, waiting, and pervy xray techs, and shelled out my copays, and it was for nothing. I think it should be like lawyers, you know if they don't win the trial then you don't pay em'. I think if they don't find anything wrong with you, you shouldn't have to pay them!! Although this may back fire.

Well, I will focus on the fact that I am healthy and well, and I will head out to the chiropractor and I am sure he will fix me up! Anyway this is my Thursday.

I took some pictures with my phone today too... here they are...

Ok, here is Dolly looking up at me as I just got out of the shower. She is a strange little mutt that likes to watch us all shower. I'm not sure yet how I feel about this..

Ok, this is me merging onto the freeway, and when I got my phone up to take the picture this semi was passing. AHHHH, I had a VERY bad experience with a semi on one of our trips to Nebraska. Well, ever since then I have had a sorta phobia of semi's. Let's just say my Uncle Ed saved us from being killed!!! So basically, I don't like them.. anyway..

Oh! Here we have our newest Lowe's.. I don't really have a story for this, I was just going by a bunch of stores, and I happen to catch Lowes.

Ok, I am a little frustrated because they recently started doing construction on our freeway and they changed the speed limit from 70 to 55!!! Do you know how hard that is to adjust to?! I mean really, I know these guys are in danger but I need to get somewhere fast, thats why I took the highway!! I am pretty sure they call it a "high" way cause you have a need to go at a high speed!!! Ok, I'm positive thats NOT the real reason they call it that, but whatever.

Yeah it is really hard for me to listen to the 55 rule. oops!!! moving on...

Ok, here we have the waiting room, and thats exactly what I did.. waited and waited and waited!!... Oh, and this was taken right before a lady came in and yelled at the receptionist for messin' up her appointment. Oh boy, was that lady up set with them. I know this cause she kept saying "I am very upset with you people!!!"... I was waiting for the receptionist to say "what do you mean YOU PEOPLE!!??".. but she didn't, she just kept saying "I am very sorry Ma'am, that this happened, but all I can do is reschedule you for another time." Cracks me up when they say "all I can do is." Even though SHE messed it all up, she can't do anything for this lady. Well, that lady was given her a piece of her mind, and a what for, thats for dang sure!!

Ok, this is me waiting and waiting in the "room." I mean why do they call you into the "room" if they aren't even near ready to see you yet?
After the doctors visit, I took Jack to football. Man o' man does he love football!!

Jacie was chillin' out with me watchin' the crazy boys play their silly game..

Oh, I am very happy that the kids don't have school tomorrow, and are staying at Aunie and Uncle Jer's so I will be doing a whole lotta nothin' tomorrow! This is very exciting!!

Raising Dolly..

Well, today's blog is a concern I have. You see I have this beautiful, happy, smart, loving, sunshine daughter who just adores being a girl!! She really LOVES everything that comes with being a girl. Now, thats not the problem, I love being a girl and I can see the appeal. The problem is I feel that I may be raising another Dolly Parton! Now, don't get me wrong if you know me, you know that I am a huge Dolly fan. I mean I named my dog after this amazing singer! The problem is I feel that the moment that Jacie is aloud to wear make up and heels, she is going to go from 0 to 60!

As I think I have said before, this precious little girl just watches me, and always has suggestions for what she thinks I should wear. What color eyeshadow I should put on. She especially LOVES my heels, the higher the better. She really thinks that I buy heels because SHE will like them. She has actually said to me "Mommy, did you buy those heels, because you knew I would like them?"

Dolly Parton always says when she was little her and her mother went to town one day and she saw a street walker walking the streets and thought she was the most beautiful woman she had ever seen!! She told her "Mama" that she was going to be like that one day! She never forgot that and she accomplished it, as soon as she was free to.
Does this mean Jacie looks at me like Dolly looked at that "hooker?" Oh man, am I creating a monster? What if when she leaves home she starts dressing like Melissa on New Jersey Housewives??!! Oh brother.

Ok, sure I wear a lot of make up, and 5 inch heels, but I try to play it down some with jeans and t shirts. Ugh, what if she doesn't pick up on that? What if she goes with corsets instead of t-shirts?

I guess I will have to think about this. Maybe I am being paranoid. Perhaps she WILL pick up on my subtle ways of "sure I may choose these very high heels, but my outfit says I can bring it down a little."

Well, I think that maybe I am looking to far into it. Lets take Dolly for instance, sure she dresses in VERY tight fitting clothes, has enormous assets sitting on her chest, that she likes to show off. Sure, she cakes on the make up and wears her hair as high as she can possibly wear it, but if Jacie is as nice, and lovely as she is, and expresses how much she loves the Lord as Dolly does. Well... maybe its not so bad. I mean Dolly has been married to the same man for like, 50 years or something like that.

So, I think after writing this I have talked myself off the ledge. I am confident that Jacie will always be her loving, good, happy self, and I am VERY O.K. with that! Make-up, heels, or corsets. She will always be Sunshine to me!

Ok, I was suppose to put this up yesterday..

Ok, today is Tuesday. I thought I would share with you what I did today. I know you don't care, but I'm gonna tell ya anyway!! Now, you just sit there and read this, and pretend you care! Ok, where was I..

So yesterday was a busy day for me. Yesterday was Monday, and Mondays are recover from the weekend days. On Saturday and Sunday's I don't like to clean. I like to enjoy the time off that the kids and Jonny have with me. I like to relax and give myself some time off from cleaning and keeping up with the rush of the day to day stuff. Anyway I got up took the kids to school, came home and started scrubbing, and cleaning the left over mess of the weekend. I also had everyone over for dinner, because Aunt Louise has been down visiting from Alaska, and she will be going back home tomorrow. Anyway I started dinner (meat loaf, mashed potatoes, corn, and mac n cheese!) at 3 with peeling the potatoes. Well by the time I finished with cleaning, making dinner, cleaning up the kitchen (which Mom did most of) my back and feet were yelping!!! After dinner, and everyone had gone home, I took a bath, cozied into bed while they boys watched football, and wrote last nights blog on good ol' Halloween!

my comfy couch

Which brings me to today! TUESDAY!! Today I decided to give into my back, and relax the whole day! So I did just that! I set up on the front room couch and started up the DVR. I got out my favorite blanket, propped up the pillow, gathered up the dogs, who curl up at my feet, and fell asleep. Ahhhhh, it was a gooooood sleep. I fell asleep around 9:30 and woke at 11:30. Then I sat on my rear and watched some more t.v., checked up on things on the computer and chilled.

I'm sparing you a picture of me in the shower.
Your welcome!

At around 1:00 I thought it would be best if I showered, I mean if it wasn't for having to take Jack to football tonight I may have just let the shower thing go... maybe. I slapped on the make up and even did my hair. I almost had a full day of nothingness, but I gave in.

Goin home.
Then at 2:10, I headed out the door and picked up the kids. Luckily they had awesome days at school, and we headed home. This is when Jack begged me for a PB&J, so again I gave in and fed my poor hungry child. I wasn't really good at keeping goals anyway.

At 5 it was time to take Jack to his first football practice. He did awesome, but he's been practicing for his practice for awhile. He has learned everything he can possibly learn from Brian. He thinks Brian is the very best!

get em Jack!

So after a non productive/productive day, my back felt GREAT! Mission accomplished!
